Autumn is definitely upon us now and we are all starting to react to the dropping temperature – lots of hunching and huddling which increase muscular tension in our bodies. Using the Alexander Technique to help the body stay more open and lengthened reduces the aches and pains we start to feel around this time. It can also improve how we use our bodies in simple tasks such as leaf clearing! In sessions I would as a teacher look at the bad habits we all get into when bending and moving and then work with the client to improve balance, coordination and use of the body in everyday situations.
